Disability Awareness and Accessibility Training
Insightful Disability is the UK’s disability-led think tank and institutional capability partner helping organisations strengthen disability intelligence across leadership structures, workplaces, public services, and systems.
Unlike generic compliance-led or performative diversity initiatives, Insightful Disability combines disability-led expertise, systems thinking, strategic insight, and implementation support to help organisations strengthen long-term performance.
We embed national research and disability intelligence into the core of our training, delivering executive-level facilitation and strategic advisory support. We guide your organisation through the development of system thinking, explore practical accessibility and how you can implement effective solutions at your workplace.
Why this matters now
Disability is the defining reality shaping the future of Britain’s workforce, economy, public services, and infrastructure. The future strength of Britain’s institutions, workplaces, public services, and communities depends upon their ability to understand, and design alongside the full complexity, needs, and talents of the populations they serve.
In January to March 2026, the employment rate for disabled people was 53.1% and the rate for people who are not disabled was 82.2%, meaning that the disability employment gap (the difference in the employment rate of disabled people and people who are not disabled) was 29.1 percentage points.
- 16.8 million disabled people in the UK - these are your staff and customers.
- 10.4 million working age disabled people in the UK. This represents more than 1 in 4 of the working age population.
- 4.3 million working-age disabled people are economically inactive (not in work and not actively seeking work).
- £330 billion - the annual economic cost of work-limiting ill-health and disability.
Without the right evidence, disability intelligence, and lived experience insight, organisations risk making decisions that carry significant operational, economic, social, and reputational costs.
